How to record a WebEx meeting
Understanding WebEx recording options
WebEx offers different recording options based on your account type and role in a meeting. Free users can only record locally using the desktop app, while premium users can record on desktop and mobile with both local and cloud storage options. Hosts, co-hosts, and presenters can record directly in WebEx, but participants need special permissions or alternative methods.
How to record a WebEx meeting on your computer
For meeting hosts
During your live WebEx meeting, locate the "Record" button in the bottom right corner of your screen
Click the "Record" button to begin
If you have a premium account, choose where to save the recording:
Cloud storage (premium users only)
Local storage on your computer
After selecting your storage preference, click "Save"
A recording indicator will appear in the bottom corner with options to pause or stop recording
For meeting participants
If you're a participant and need to record:
Ask the host to make you a co-host or presenter
Once granted these permissions, you'll have access to the same recording controls
If permission isn't granted, you can use alternative recording solutions
How to record a WebEx meeting on your phone
Using the WebEx mobile app
Open the WebEx app on your mobile device
Join an existing meeting or start your own
Tap the "Record" button at the bottom of the screen
The recording will save to your device when the meeting ends
Using built-in screen recording (iPhone)
Enable screen recording in Control Center (Settings > Control Center > Add Screen Recording)
Join your WebEx meeting
Swipe down from the top right corner to access Control Center
Tap the screen recording button
After a three-second countdown, recording will begin
The recording will save automatically to your Photos app when completed
Using built-in screen recording (Android)
Swipe down from the top of your screen to access quick settings
Tap the "Screen record" icon (if not visible, tap the pencil icon to add it)
Join your WebEx meeting
Swipe down again and tap "Screen record"
Tap "Start" to begin recording

Finding your WebEx recordings
Your recordings are stored in different places depending on how you saved them:
Cloud recordings: Access through your WebEx account dashboard
Local recordings (Windows): Located in the Documents folder by default
Local recordings (Mac): Saved to the Home folder, accessible via Finder
Mobile recordings: Stored in your device gallery or WebEx app
