With the release iOS 18.1, you can record calls on iPhone. In this post, we'll cover how to use Circleback to transcribe (in over 100 languages) and get an AI-written summary for phone calls directly on your iPhone.

Before continuing, make sure you're on iOS 18.1 or newer by going to Settings → General → About and checking the iOS Version.

1. While on a phone call, select record in the top-left corner.

2. Once you've stopped the recording or the call ends, open the Notes app to find the recording.

3. Select the recording to open it, open the … menu in the top-right corner, and select Save Audio to Files.

4. Browse to select On My Phone and select Save in the top right

5. Log in to Circleback in Safari by going to app.circleback.ai (if this is your first time, you will need to take two minutes to onboard).

6. Select New → Import in the top right.

7. Tap the file picker and select Choose File.

   

8. Choose the recording you saved earlier and select Import.

Once imported, your recording will show up in the Meetings tab with a diarized transcript, notes, action items, and other details you want identified in the call. You can also ask questions about what was discussed in the call by using the assistant.
