AI Meeting Notetakers with MCP: Connect Claude or ChatGPT to Your Past Meetings (2026)

TL;DR: Circleback's MCP server is on every plan, including Free, and it can update action items, tags, and sharing as well as read meetings. Granola's MCP is on all plans, but Basic reaches only the last 30 days of notes. Fellow's MCP starts on its Team plan, at $7 per user a month, billed annually.
You've probably had hundreds of meetings this year, and Claude or ChatGPT can't see any of them. MCP fixes that. Connect your notetaker once, and you can ask what a customer said in March, or what your team decided last week, without leaving the chat.
Every fact below comes from each vendor's own pricing page or help docs. We make Circleback, one of the tools on this list. If MCP is new to you, what MCP is and why your meeting tool needs it covers the protocol itself.

Circleback — best for one connector across meetings, email, and calendar
Circleback treats MCP as a way into everything it knows, not just meetings. Its MCP server is included on every plan, including Free. The read tools cover meetings, notes, action items, insights, tags, full transcripts with speaker labels and timestamps, calendar events, connected email threads, people, and companies.
Setup is documented for Claude (Settings → Connectors → Browse connectors → Circleback), ChatGPT (the Circleback app in ChatGPT), Raycast, Claude Code, Cursor (a Cursor Marketplace plugin), and Codex. The steps are in how to connect Circleback to Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor. The server is remote (Streamable HTTP, OAuth with dynamic client registration at https://circleback.ai/api/mcp), so there's nothing to install.
Write tools update meetings and tags, share meetings, and create, update, or delete action items. Circleback asks for write access when you connect, and the AI app can ask you to confirm each change. The full tool list is in the Circleback MCP docs. Everything Circleback captures feeds the same connector: the bot (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Webex), the bot-free desktop app on macOS and Windows, and the iOS and Android apps for in-person meetings. Inside the product, Ask Circleback answers across meetings and connected email with cited sources.
Strengths: MCP on every plan, including Free, next to a public API and an official CLI. Read access goes past meetings to calendar events, connected email threads, people, and companies. Write tools cover action items, tags, sharing, and meeting updates. Setup is documented for Claude, ChatGPT, Raycast, Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex.
Limitations: The Free plan keeps 30 days of meeting history (older meetings are locked, not deleted; recordings are deleted after 1 year on Free and Pro, 2 years on Business). A long back-catalog needs Pro or higher, which adds unlimited history. Email answers depend on a connected Gmail or Outlook Mail account. Data is processed in the United States, with GDPR supported through the DPA rather than EU hosting.
Who Circleback is for: Anyone who wants one connection for meetings, email threads, and calendar events, and wants the AI to update action items, tags, and sharing rather than only read.
Pricing: Free, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans, with MCP on all of them. See current pricing for amounts.
Fireflies — best for meeting analytics and soundbites in Claude
Fireflies' MCP server goes deep on its own meeting library. It runs at https://api.fireflies.ai/mcp over Streamable HTTP with OAuth, and Fireflies has had an official connector in Anthropic's Claude Connectors Directory since August 21, 2025. Its developer docs list read tools for transcript search, transcripts, summaries with action items and keywords, team and per-user analytics, channels, soundbites, user groups, and contacts. Action tools share a meeting, revoke access, rename it, move it to a channel, and create a soundbite.
For Claude, the help center article covers the directory connector, plus an API-key option for Claude Desktop. For ChatGPT, it documents a custom connector (Settings → Connectors → Create, with the server URL and OAuth) on a ChatGPT Plus, Team, or Enterprise account. The configuration docs also name Cursor, Devin, and OpenClaw. The connector follows your Fireflies permissions, so Claude can only reach meetings you're authorized to view.
Strengths: Read tools for search, analytics, soundbites, channels, and contacts, as well as transcripts and summaries. A directory listing in Claude. Action tools for sharing and organizing meetings from the chat. A Free plan with unlimited transcription when Auto-join is on.
Limitations: Neither the pricing page nor the MCP docs say which Fireflies plan includes MCP. The Claude guide asks for a Fireflies account, not a specific plan. The action tools don't create or update action items, and ChatGPT is documented as a custom connector rather than a listed app. Fireflies also says its Zero-Day Retention option doesn't apply once data is in Claude, where Anthropic's terms govern it.
Who looks at Fireflies: Teams with a large Fireflies library who want Claude to search it with filters, pull analytics and soundbites, and leave meeting content as it is.
Pricing: Free (unlimited transcription when Auto-join is on, limited AI summaries, and 400 minutes of storage), Pro ($10-18/user/mo), Business ($19-29/user/mo), and Enterprise ($39/user/mo, billed annually), per the pricing page and the pricing help article.
Granola — best for people who already take notes in Granola
Granola never sends a bot. It captures meetings with your computer's system audio and microphone, so its connector returns the notes Granola wrote and, on paid plans, the transcript behind them. Granola's MCP is available on all plans, including the free Basic plan. On Basic, though, it reaches only your last 30 days of meeting notes, and raw transcripts, folder browsing, and search tools need a paid plan.
Granola's help center covers Claude (Settings → Connectors → Granola), ChatGPT (Settings → Apps → Granola), and Claude Code (claude mcp add granola --transport http https://mcp.granola.ai/mcp). Other MCP clients use the same URL with OAuth 2.0. Business adds personal and public workspace notes. On Enterprise, MCP is off by default: an admin turns it on and can allow or block personal notes, public notes, and transcripts separately.
Strengths: Free to start, with first-party setup for Claude, ChatGPT, and Claude Code. Enterprise admins get per-scope controls and identity-provider authorization such as Okta. Business is $14 per user per month.
Limitations: Read-only, since the docs describe no write tools. Basic reaches only the last 30 days of notes and no transcripts. Notes from other Granola workspaces aren't included, and Enterprise workspaces start with MCP off.
Circleback's connector goes further on the Free plan: it returns full transcripts with speaker labels and timestamps, which Granola's Basic plan leaves out, along with calendar events and connected email.
Who looks at Granola: Granola users who want the notes they type into Granola available in Claude or ChatGPT. The paid plans matter if you need transcripts or more than 30 days of history.
Pricing: Basic ($0), Business ($14 per user per month), and Enterprise ($35 per user per month), per the pricing page, which gives no billing period. MCP is on all three, with transcripts on Business and Enterprise.
Fathom — best for unlimited free storage
Fathom makes MCP part of its free plan. Its pricing page lists "Public API & MCP" and "Claude & ChatGPT Integrations" on every plan, including Free, so the official MCP server at https://api.fathom.ai/mcp works without paying.
Fathom is an official connector in Claude. If you use Claude in a team or organization, an owner must enable it first. ChatGPT uses the official Fathom app, where you type @Fathom to query your meetings. Claude Code adds the server with claude mcp add fathom -- npx mcp-remote@latest https://api.fathom.ai/mcp, which needs Node.js for the mcp-remote bridge. Fathom's help center says the integration can only access meetings you already have permission to view in Fathom.
Strengths: A listed connector in Claude and a published app in ChatGPT. MCP dates to April 2026 in the developer changelog, next to a public API and webhooks. The Free plan records and transcribes without limits.
Limitations: On the Free plan, advanced summaries are limited use, and AI action items need Premium, per Fathom's help center. A free library gives the AI less to read. The MCP docs don't itemize which data the tools return (transcripts, summaries, or action items), and they document no write tools.
Who looks at Fathom: Fathom users on any plan, Free included, who want their Fathom meetings in Claude or ChatGPT and don't need the AI to change anything in Fathom.
Pricing: Free, Premium ($16-20/user/mo), Team ($15-19/user/mo), Business ($25-34/user/mo), and Enterprise (custom). Team and Business have a two-user minimum.
Otter — best for pulling one Otter transcript into a chat
Otter keeps its MCP server simple. Otter's pricing page lists it under the free Basic plan, and the server at https://mcp.otter.ai/mcp gives AI apps three read tools. They are get user info, search ("Search for meetings and get an overview of information"), and fetch, which returns the full transcript of a meeting or conversation.
Otter's help center covers Claude through the connectors directory and ChatGPT through the ChatGPT App Store (connect on the web first, and it then shows up in the desktop app). It also covers Cursor through a JSON entry with the server URL, Perplexity through a custom connector, and other MCP clients through the same URL. Access is OAuth-authenticated, and the AI can only reach meetings you explicitly authorize. A conversation must be shared with you before your AI app can fetch it.
Strengths: MCP on the free plan. Fetch works by conversation URL, so you can paste a link and ask for a summary. Pro is $8.33 per user per month, billed annually.
Limitations: Read-only, with no write or sharing tools. Basic transcribes 300 minutes a month, with a 30-minute cap per conversation and three lifetime file imports, so the free library fills slowly. Otter's API and webhooks are listed only on Enterprise.
Circleback's free connector also searches transcripts, and adds write tools for action items, tags, and sharing.
Who looks at Otter: Otter users who want Claude or ChatGPT to search and summarize their Otter transcripts without paying, and who don't need the AI to change anything in Otter.
Pricing: Free (Basic, with 300 transcription minutes a month), Pro ($8.33/user/mo annual or $16.99 monthly), Business ($19.99/user/mo annual or $30 monthly, as of October 2026), and Enterprise (custom).
Fellow — best for teams that run agendas in Fellow
Fellow's MCP server is the one here that writes meeting agendas. It's available on all paid Fellow plans, which start with Team at $7 per user per month, billed annually. Its write tools create and edit meeting agendas and agenda templates.
Fellow is a verified connector in Claude's directory. Its help center also documents ChatGPT, Cursor, Microsoft Copilot, and Copilot Studio (the last by pasting https://fellow.app/mcp). A workspace admin must turn the MCP server on in Workspace Settings before anyone can connect, and admins can see and revoke every active connection. The developer reference lists read tools for meeting search, summaries, transcripts, participants, action items, channels, and agendas. Write tools for agendas and agenda templates sit behind a separate write_meeting_agenda scope.
Strengths: Agenda writes from Claude or ChatGPT, so an agenda drafted in chat lands where attendees see it. An admin on/off switch and a list of connections. Team starts at $7 per user per month, billed annually.
Limitations: Not on the Free plan. Write tools stop at agendas, and action items are read-only through MCP. Team caps AI notes at 10 per user per month, so a full library to query needs Business, at $15 per user per month, billed annually. Enterprise shows only an annual price and starts at 10 users.
Who looks at Fellow: Teams that plan meetings in Fellow and want Claude or ChatGPT to prepare agendas as well as answer questions about past meetings, with an admin deciding who connects.
Pricing: Free (5 lifetime AI notes per user), Team ($7-11/user/mo), Business ($15-23/user/mo), and Enterprise ($25/user/mo, billed annually, with a 10-user minimum), per the pricing page.
Read AI — best for agents that also dispatch the notetaker
Read AI's server is built for agents that act, not just read. It's in open beta and, per its help center, "available to all users regardless of plan or workspace". It has four tools: get meeting by ID, list meetings, create meeting agent, and share meeting report. The one prerequisite is that a workspace must have Downloads enabled under Reports & Sharing.
The server at https://api.read.ai/mcp uses OAuth 2.1. It lists ChatGPT and Codex, Claude (desktop, web, and Claude Code), and Microsoft Copilot Studio as compatible clients, with a listing in Claude's directory and in ChatGPT. Each meeting returns metadata, participants, a summary, chapter summaries, action items, key questions, topics, the full transcript with speaker identification, metrics, and an MP4 download link. The action tools send a Read AI meeting agent to a Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams call from its URL, and share a report with viewer or editor access.
Strengths: No plan gate during the beta. A detailed per-meeting payload, including chapter summaries, key questions, and a recording download link. An agent can send the notetaker to an ad hoc call and share the report. Documented for Codex and Copilot Studio as well as Claude and ChatGPT.
Limitations: Read AI documents its own beta friction. Access tokens expire after 10 minutes, refresh tokens are single-use, requests are capped at 100 per minute per user, and some clients (VS Code and Notion are named) have failed authentication. There's no search tool, and list meetings filters by date range, 10 per page. Ask Read and coaching data aren't exposed. The Free plan covers 5 meeting transcripts a month.
Who looks at Read AI: Teams building agent workflows that read meeting reports and act on them, by sending the bot or sharing the report, and that can live with beta-stage authentication.
Pricing: Free (5 meeting transcripts a month), Pro ($15-19.75/user/mo), Enterprise ($22.50-29.75/user/mo), and Enterprise+ ($29.75-39.75/user/mo, with a five-license minimum), per the pricing page.
Avoma — best for sales teams that score calls in Avoma
Avoma's server is built around its sales data. It runs at https://mcp.avoma.com/mcp and requires an Avoma Organization or Enterprise plan, or the API Access add-on. Avoma's guides set it up as a custom connector added by an admin, not as a directory listing.
In Claude, an org owner adds a custom web connector with the server URL (Avoma's guide asks for a paid Claude plan), and team members then connect their own Avoma accounts. In ChatGPT, setup is admin-only, and the workspace must be on a ChatGPT Business or Enterprise plan that supports custom connectors. The OAuth consent screen offers three scopes: user-limited, user-full (including private meetings), and organization-limited (all non-private meetings across the org). The tool list covers meetings in a date range with attendee filters, the full transcript with speakers and timestamps, structured notes (key points, decisions, and action items), scorecard results, and org-wide usage metrics. Write tools set a meeting's purpose, outcome, and privacy.
Strengths: Scorecard results over MCP. An organization-wide scope for managers. Write tools that record outcomes such as Closed Won or Closed Lost from chat.
Limitations: The Startup plan needs the API Access add-on. Avoma's guides show no directory listing in Claude or ChatGPT, so an admin adds it, and ChatGPT requires Business or Enterprise. Cursor and Claude Code aren't documented. The connector disconnects after 30 days of inactivity.
Circleback's connector returns custom AI insights, so a sales scorecard set up as an insight comes through the same connection.
Who looks at Avoma: Sales and customer teams that run scorecards and outcomes in Avoma and want reps and managers to query them, and update deal outcomes, from Claude or ChatGPT.
Pricing: Startup ($19-29/user/mo), Organization ($29-39/user/mo), and Enterprise ($39/user/mo, billed annually), per the pricing page.
What to look for beyond "has MCP"
Every tool on this list can put meeting notes in front of Claude or ChatGPT. The differences show up the first time you ask a real question. Can the AI read the full transcript, or only a summary? Can it see the email thread that followed the call? Can it update an action item, or do you copy the answer back by hand?
Plan gates matter as much as features. Some servers are free, some need a paid plan, and some need an admin to add a custom connector before anyone can use them. Check that the plan you'd actually buy includes the server, and that it covers the history you want to ask about.
The quickest test is your own. Connect two of these to the same AI app, ask both about a meeting you remember well, and compare the answers. That will tell you more than any comparison post can, including this one.
Frequently asked questions
Which AI notetakers have an official MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT?
Circleback, Fireflies, Granola, Fathom, Otter, Fellow, Read AI, and Avoma all publish one. All except Avoma connect from Claude's connector list, and Avoma is added as a custom connector with its server URL. In ChatGPT, Circleback, Fathom, Otter, Granola, Fellow, and Read AI have a listed app, while Fireflies and Avoma document a custom connector.
Do I need a paid Claude or ChatGPT plan to connect a meeting notetaker?
For Claude, Anthropic's help center says directory connectors are available to all users. Custom connectors are available to free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users, with free users limited to one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an owner must enable connectors first. Some vendor guides still say a paid Claude plan is required, but Anthropic's page is the one to trust. For ChatGPT, it depends on the path. Listed apps install from ChatGPT's app list, while Fireflies' custom connector asks for ChatGPT Plus, Team, or Enterprise, and Avoma's for Business or Enterprise. Check OpenAI's help center for your plan.
Which meeting notetaker MCP servers are free?
Circleback's is on every plan, including Free. Fathom lists "Public API & MCP" on every plan, including Free. Otter lists its MCP server on the free Basic plan, Granola's works on Basic for the last 30 days of notes without transcripts, and Read AI's open beta is open to all plans. Fellow needs Team or higher, and Avoma needs Organization or Enterprise, or the API Access add-on. Fireflies doesn't state a plan requirement.
Can Claude or ChatGPT change things in my notetaker, or only read?
It depends on the server. Circleback's write tools create, update, or delete action items, update meetings and tags, and share meetings. Fellow's write agendas and agenda templates, and Fireflies' share, rename, move, and clip meetings. Read AI's send a meeting agent and share a report, and Avoma's set a meeting's purpose, outcome, and privacy. Granola's and Otter's are read-only, and Fathom documents no write tools.
Can my AI assistant see my teammates' meetings through MCP?
Only what you can already see. Fireflies, Fathom, Otter, and Read AI each say the connector follows your permissions in the product, and Otter adds that a conversation must be shared with you before the AI can fetch it. Avoma's organization-wide scope covers all non-private meetings, Granola's Business plan adds public workspace notes, and Read AI admins can enable global report access. Circleback's server authenticates with your own Circleback account.
Which notetaker lets Claude or ChatGPT read email and calendar, not just meetings?
Of the eight tools here, Circleback's server is the one that reads connected email threads and calendar events alongside meetings, with people and company lookups across both. Fellow returns calendar event details for its meetings, and the others stay within meeting data. If you want the call and the email thread after it in one answer, that's the difference to look for.
Circleback's MCP server works on every plan, including Free, and reaches your meetings, calendar, and email in one connection. Learn how to set it up.
